1940s: The "New Look"

In 1945, Dior showcased the "New Look" which changed fashion forever. Even today, this look is being worn on streets and catwalks. The signature look consists of a below-mid-calf length, full-skirt, large bust and small waist. The tailored skirts, dresses and jackets were very popular with women of the 1940s.

On the catwalks, in magazines and on the streets today, designers have taken inspiration from the 1940s to create new looks of their own.
